The Book
Coursework and everyday life, kept in one workbook.

Case overview
An early planner project bringing tasks, reminders, a calendar, and course notes together around an Excel workbook.
01The problem
Coursework has several kinds of information: what needs doing, when it is due, and the notes needed to do it. The Book explores a quieter way to keep those pieces together.
02The product direction
The planner brings tasks, reminders, calendar context, and course notes into one experience. Its documented direction uses Flutter with an Excel workbook as the place where planning information lives.
03The tradeoff
A workbook gives the project a familiar, portable format. It also raises design questions around edits, synchronization, and preserving a user’s existing structure. Those questions need to be resolved as the early version develops.
04Current evidence
The portfolio identifies The Book as an early version and links to the SemesterPlanning source repository. Release details, usability findings, and reliability measurements are not documented here yet.
05Next steps
Verify the core planning loop: create a task, connect it to coursework, find it in calendar context, and retain it in the workbook. Then test how the experience handles changes made directly in Excel.
